Is anyone else having trouble with the tabs snapping off of the lock and lock lids?  I’ve been buying these products for a long time, but lately I find that the tabs are breaking.  Reduced quality?  Does anyone know if replacements are available?

I've had more than my share of lock and lock through the years and love them. No I can't say I have any problems with the tabs. Sorry you are having problems because these are wonderful containers in many fun colors.

I had one of the tabs break off.  I have found you can't force them.  If you feel it not snapping easily, you need to start over and center your lid better.  I only have one set.  I do prefer those Tupperware lids that you just pushed down in the middle and .........  SNAP.....it was done!

I haven't had any problems with all the ones we have.  These are used in our lives, daily.

Same situation here.  I had one lid (tab) snap and break.  I am glad I kept my older sets, even though they do not nest.  They were definitely better/thicker quality.

Great advice, if you feel any resistance with the closure process, don't force the tabs.

Get out your paperwork with the guarantee that comes with the orders. You will also need your receipt of purchase--you can get that by going to your orders in My Account. The guarantee will tell you how to get a replacement.  I had one tab that broke when I first used it and I put off dealing with it. Finally it was either toss the container the lid went with or get the lid replaced. I mailed the lid to the address given on that guarantee. I slipped it into a large envelope and sent it to California at Christmastime. It only cost me a couple bucks. I had the replacement back much sooner than they said. It didn't take as long as they said it would. In addition to loving the containers, that process was awesome.

I’ll try this. Thought there was no hope since I didn’t have a receipt. This issue has kept me from purchasing more lock n locks though I love the large one with the handle for taking to gatherings. Thanks for the suggestion!

Glad you had luck with replacement.

Most posters in the past who have tried to get pieces warranted have found no response from the company. It has generally been considered a throw away product if it breaks as the company is unresponsive to people's inquiries, and the cost of shipping pieces to be replaced is more than buying another one.

Perhaps they have gotten better.

I’ve been purchasing Lock & Lock for years and have quite a varied collection. I, too, have found the newer pieces don’t seem to have the quality of my older pieces. The colored lids seem to be the ones I have the most trouble with.....especially the new Copper color. The lids from that entire set are very difficult to close and even harder to open at times. I have another set with the Apple Green lids and they can be tricky at times to open and close as well. The Clear lids have always been consistent for me, so if I purchase anymore, I will stick with the Clear.
