I replaced ALL of my plastic wear years ago with Lock & Lock containers. I've used them, froze in them, microwaved in them, thrown them in the dishwasher and all of mine are still like new! I've never had a product that I've had ZERO problems with!! Love my L&L's!!

Grease will eventually pit L&L like it does other items. Once something gets pitted I don't use it for food. I reallocate to hold misc. stuff in the house. (office supplies, garden supplies, sewing items, "junk"  misc. hangers and screws, etc.)  I still think that I get more mileage from my L&L than any other product that I've purchased. Yhe fact that I can re-use it to organize some of that misc., bits and pieces and didn't spend a dime works for me.

image.jpegSo, some of you have lock n lock that look like these? I think it's a combo of cooking, hard water and dishwasher, cause even in the ones I do not heat things up in, get a little bit of the white marks, which almost seem like some kind of residue...

Hi Smiley Tongue

I'm not clear, you reheated the meatloaf IN the L&L?

I know they say it's OK, but I err on the side of caution because plastics have been known to transfer to food while heating.

DH once stored chopped onions in a small L&L and I could not get the odor out.  I read that a long soak in DAWN and warm water can get a lot of things out.  I would try that to see if it also removed stains, also, try soaking in just warm water and a healthy dose of baking soda.

@Mothertrucker

Hmm those round bowls look just like mine that made their way to the trash recently.

I love all my LNL but some are very old & tired--I just replaced some with the TSV and don't need all different sizes. I like the rectangular and square stack better and take up less space!

I don't even know why I keep the really bad ones...I dont even use them..

You know, you are right @homedecor1, I am at work now, but tomorrow, I am going to simply purge the bad ones..I should have a long time ago..

Thanks!

@Mothertrucker

The newest set prior to TSV I bought the nestable rectangular (k42632 $19.97) and zen small (k43323 $15.92). I love these sizes and best part they nest.

Glad I inspired you but since my pre-holiday purge I've been a slug but I only bought 1 home thing since before TGiving...that's scary for me!
