Not a piece- it's a set.
This one is $625.

A 7 qt. Le Creuset french oven costs $329.95, no tax and free shipping at Chef's Catalog, and a 9 qt. about $30.00 more, so I don't know what David meant when he said that the item he is selling is over $400 elsewhere.

I don't own any pieces- just wondering about the quality at TJ Maxx and other discounted places. I have seen their iconic orange color on the shelves. Since it doesn't go out of style, why is it discounted at TJ Maxx. I could understand if it was last year's color or style. Pls enlightened me. I have seen their bakeware marked made in China.

I wear four gold bracelets (18 kt.) and cook in five LC pots at one time: Lobster, filets, King crab legs and wagu beef.
Really! With two Dooney bags on my arm and diamond rings and earrings.
I don't know why people have to place some judgment on what people buy or don't buy. There are people who are simply skin flints, (no greater glory in that if you are mean about what others do), spendthrifts, and people who think it is silly to buy this or that because they don't want it, wouldn't use it, or can't afford it.
More and more in recent years it's been like this. People used to be happy when someone could get something and were thrilled with it. It is a SHOPPING board and should be about people having fun shopping rather than raining on someone's parade.

I love my le creuset--I told my hubby after I got my first one--that it should be automatic that every new bride receives one of these--it took me 20+ years of marriage to get my first one--and it is the best piece of cookware I own. I use it for roasts, spaghetti sauce, chile--it is truly amazing and really makes a difference.

I think TJ Maxx and Marshalls get overstock and stuff from stores going out of business. I've never bought any LC there because it's hit and miss.
The ceramic line and I think the stainless line is made in China but the enameled cast iron is made in France.

If you are a serious cook and use your cookware a lot than LC is the best there is. Will last a lifetime. I don't use my dutch oven all that much so I am happy with my RR, but I do have some other LC pieces and they are great.
