Just saw in my local BB&B flyer the 3.5 Le Creuset Braiser is on sale for $179.00 and if you have a 20% off coupon you pay even less. The same item here is $250.00, so that is quite a bit of savings. I don't collect or use the Le Creuset products, but know a lot do so wanted to post this.

Have a great evening

Thank you for posting.  QVC is convenient, but rarely the best option when it comes to price.

I have one LeCreuset item and I agree, it cooks very well.  However, food does stick and the inside of the pot is stained.  I'm disappointed by that and I'm not likely to add another piece.

I don't know what your LeCreuset stains are like, but I found I can make mine disappear like magic within 2 minutes.

Simply pour in just enough white vinegar  to totally cover the bottom of the pot..  Within a few seconds, add just a little water and begin swishing and rubbing it around the bottom and sides with a paper towel.

Then I rinse, and to my delighted surprise every time, the stains are gone and the ceramic interior shines like new.

I usually resort to the vinegar after already washing the pot and still seeing light stains and a sort of dull  residue lining the bottom interior.

At first, I was afraid the concentrated vinegar would damage the shine, but instead it restores the shine.

Also, foods are less likely to stick in LeCreuset if the pot is heated first before adding oil and then waiting until the oil heats to add meat or other foods.

Re: Le Creuset Users

Thanks for info. I just checked online and it is the 3.5 Wide Oval French Oven that is on sale. The brasier is there for 194.99. Both are great prices made better with the additional 20% off coupons. I do love QVC's easy pay but that is one item where there is no shipping discount. If the shipping is free most places with a purchase over $50 then I will buy it there as the price is $50-100 less as well.

If you want to try your first piece of LC...easy pay got me initially and helped me fall in love with this brand. After I realized that allowing the pan to properly pre heat was required before putting in any food, I have never had problems with sticking.

I love BB&B coupons, but there ARE exclusions listed in them. Has anyone successfully purchased Le Creuset with a coupon? I'm just wondering if it's an exclusion, before I get my hopes up lol.

Thanks!

@Ilovetea

Pre heating is mandatory to keep the pan from burning and food sticking.  Also, you shouldn't kick the heat any higher than med to med high.  Never any hotter.  I am not the most patient person, it took me a long time and talking to other LC cooks to work with it correctly.

The 3.5 Le Creuset Braiser that I see on sale for $179.00 is the same one I ordered from Macy's for $149 at Christmas time. My Macy's coupon wouldn't work with the brand. I hate exclusions! I always used to get my hopes up, get to the register and learn whatever I was buying was not included Smiley Sad  That's just wrong...ha!

I just checked online, and in exclusions for BB & B, they list Le Creseut as excluded, so if you get someone who doesn't notice at the store, MAYBE you will get the discount??

Thanks for sharing!

YES, the ones that I have seen at TJMaxx have had "seconds" stickers on them - I actually bought one at the Le Creseut outlet near us, and it's a "second," but I can't see any defects on it.  Cooks just like my other one! Smiley Happy

If you call a Le Crueset Outlet store and ask which piece you want, they will give you a price and mail it to you.  They have 1sts and 2nds.  If you want a second, the sales person will scout up a good one for you.  I think a couple posters on these boards have done this with great success.  The most important thing with a second is that there are no flea bites or bubbles on interior area and under side of lid.  I have a few seconds and they worked out well.  They allow you to return them if you have problem with a second.
