If you call a Le Crueset Outlet store and ask which piece you want, they will give you a price and mail it to you.  They have 1sts and 2nds.  If you want a second, the sales person will scout up a good one for you.  I think a couple posters on these boards have done this with great success.  The most important thing with a second is that there are no flea bites or bubbles on interior area and under side of lid.  I have a few seconds and they worked out well.  They allow you to return them if you have problem with a second.

This (bolded by me) has been my experience as well.  Actually, I was at the outlet store over by you and after we got home from vacation I called them and they got me the piece I wanted, in the color I wanted, and it is perfect.  You could not tell that it is considered a second, from the fit of the lid to the perfection of the enameling.

The person I talked to on the phone told me that sometimes they have seconds that only have to be sold as seconds because the box is dented or there is no box.

@chickenbutt

My experience has always been good.  The agents seem very well educated in LC.  They even showed me how to pick out a great  piece from the seconds displays.  The savings is wonderful if you can find one to your liking.  The seconds I bought have painting issues,very slight, because it had to be pointed out to me.

Didn't you get that fabulous shiny black skillet with lid?  It was like an art piece if I remember.  You bought something in the store, then ordered when you got home

Yes!  That's the one.   It is just perfect.  That day I just purchased a tiny little ceramic/stoneware (whatever) covered pot - something you might use for salt or something, when we were on our way to Monterey.  Then, after we had returned home, I called in and ordered that one.

They were so nice there (and you know I really love nice people!) and helpful.  They gave me a bunch of info that was helpful, so I was easily able to call and order what I wanted to get.   Also, free shipping when you spend, IIRC, just $100.    The price was absolutely killer, too.

All 3 of mine are seconds from either Marshall's or the LC outlet.

My large one is stained. I've tried all the internet fixes for it and nothing helps.  It's scorched and nothing will take the scorch away.

Thank you for posting.  QVC is convenient, but rarely the best option when it comes to price.

I have one LeCreuset item and I agree, it cooks very well.  However, food does stick and the inside of the pot is stained.  I'm disappointed by that and I'm not likely to add another piece.

house_cat, if your food is sticking, you should cook it a little longer.

As for the stains, you can use white vinegar like the first poster said.

I've had my Le Creuset collection for almost 10 years.  They look brand new!  Even the one DH set on fire.

I have been able to use the coupons for everything but not at all stores. I just ask and see what response I get.

I have purchased a couple of pieces at the outlet recently.  I got the 3.5 qt  braiser which was not a second for 147.00 before taxes and I got a discontinued yellow deep fryer for half price at 100.00 before tax.  I am on the waitlist for the tsv from the other day and the only reason I am wanting it is because it is exclusive to qvc with the grill lid.
