Watched ITKWD from Sunday and guest said not to put the containers in dishwasher or microwave. I've always put them in dishwasher and microwave (w/ lid slightly open). Is this something new? A new material, since description says both are fine to do?

Do you recall which specific item was referenced?

@They CallMe MRWILKES   I think she was showing a 6 pc. rectangular set (different sizes) that can stack.

The LocknLock presentations yesterday on ITKWD were by MarkCharles.

There was no 6 piece rectangular set.

Does "she" refer to Janine Furillo?

@Shanus - I also only saw MarkCharles presenting LocknLock during ITKWD yesterday, so I just checked the items on air and didn't see a multi-container set like you are describing. Could you have been watching a rerun?

Regardless, I can't think of any LocknLock items I've ever seen presented that can't go in the dishwasher and the microwave—if you can find an item number so we could review the video along with you, maybe that would help.

During the presentation of the XXL container, Mark Charles did say, in an offhand, joking manner (first 55 seconds) that there probably wasn't a home microwave or dishwasher where it would fit!

Perhaps that is what was heard.

I mostly just hand wash the plastic stuff and lids, but most of my L&L is glass.  That, of course, goes in the dishwasher.

A couple of weeks back Marie Louise demonstrated a set of (6) 4 cup Twist Lid Mason Jars that she said not to use in Microwave or put in Dishwasher.

@Shanus - Okay, I was curious and looked up a couple of sets with six pieces. In the presentation linked below, around the 2:10 mark, Janine is showing a non-LocknLock container and talking about how it does not have a seal to keep its contents airtight and watertight and that it cannot go in the microwave or dishwasher. Was that perhaps what you heard/saw?

I always put the Lock N Lock lids in the top shelf that holds flat items like large knives and lids.  I put the actual containers in the middle shelf. I usually don't  put plastic in the microwave.
