I was wondering for those who have the ceramic bowl for the Kitchenaid tilt head stand mixer does the bowl not lock solidly into place like the stainless steel bowls? I recently purchased a ceramic bowl and can't get it to completely lock still. You can use your hands and can either tilt it back or forth this is something that would happen with my stainless still bowl. Just wondering if I have a defective item or is this normal with the ceramic bowls?
TIA

Hi I have two ceramic bowls and both of mine "lock in". Try this:
Hope this helps!

What @Happy2BHere said. I have the glass bowl. It does seem like if it didn't have that pour spout it would rotate further, but that's how I lock mine in. Haven't used my SS bowl since I got the glass one. Yes., it's heavy, but I still prefer it.

Thank you for the responses. I have lined up the notches and turned it in place. It does lock but as I said not securely. If I use my hand I can rock it back and forth. This doesn't happen with my stainless steel bowl. When attached it doesn't move in any direction. Have you ever tried once securing your bowl on the base to try and push it to see if it moves in either direction? I am not sure if this makes a difference buy I have a older 4.5 qt tilt head model KSM90 Ultra Power.
Thank you once again.

It's probably just a variance in the ceramic. Making anything identical out of ceramics is a challenge. Ceramics start out wet, then get fired and cured. Getting absolute precision from anything ceramic can be challenging. I suspect yours is a tick out of tolerance.
I just use the stainless steel bowl on mine. I saw too many of the glass bowls break on cooking shows to want to get one of those. (I think two broke on one episode of the Great British Bakeoff and I saw another one break on another cooking show. (Maybe on one of the Bon Appetit web series?) Stainless steel just won't break.

Thank you for the replies. I tried attaching the bowl again the handle on mine can only be put on the right side of the mixer . If I try to set the handle on the left side you can't lock it any. It would be great if they could attach a stainless steel ring on the bottom of the bowl. Maybe that could solve issues that arrive locking some of the ceramic bowls.
It's a beautiful bowl and lighter than expected. Just does not seem to sit to securley in my mixer.

maybe the piece on the bottom of the bowl needs adjustment with the mixer plate.
I had to do this with my glass bowl it was too far left, the handle hit the mixer. I just unscrewed the baseplate and adjusted it. (I found how to do it on YouTube if I recall).
