KitchenAid Stand Mixer dripping oil

I have a stand mixer (the one that the head tilts back). I don't use it much, maybe once a year? Well I used it today and there was oil dripping from the motor where the beater attaches. I hope it didn't drip in my batter! At least not too much. Why? What should or can I do about it?
