I have a stove top percolator and the coffee that I get from it is extremely hot, usually too hot for me to drink right away.  Under normal circumstances, however, I use a Hamilton Beach drip coffee maker.  I do a couple of things to keep it hot.  First, when I get up in the morning I put my coffee mug on a mug warmer and turn it on so it starts to heat up, then I turn on the coffee maker.  By the time the coffee is ready, my mug is hot.  If I forget to do that, I fill the mug up with very hot water or fill it with water and heat it in the microwave until it's piping hot.  Nothing cools coffee down more quickly than putting it in a cold mug - our mugs are always cold in the winter because we live in the midwest and keep our heat at 63 or 64 degrees.  Once I poured my coffee, it sits on the coffee warmer to keep it hot.  I also put a lid on the cup to keep the heat in.

I couldn't live without my Cosori coffee warmer!  It heats up to 230 degrees and keeps my cup warm every morning.

My coffee must be almost scalding hot. I use a Keurig. First I run my ceramic coffee cup under the kitchen faucet as hot as it goes to warm the cup. Then I put the milk in and microwave that for 30 seconds. Then the Keurig does its job with the coffee and it's screaming hot and light with milk.

@proudlyfromNJ    How on earth do you drink it if it's that hot.  It would scald my mouth if I tried to drink or eat anything that hot.

@KatieB  I’ve become pretty good at not burning my mouth. I start off slurping it, LOL, I don’t let it touch my lips  so no scalding.

Sometimes  I fill my coffee cup with water and nuke it for 2 minutes..then pour out the hot water and pour in the cofee - the cup is hot and  helps the coffee stay hot for a bit longer...like you I want my coffee hot!!

I'd recommend the Yeti tumblers as previous poster said. They are pricy, but they do work to keep the hot liquids hot and the cold liquids cold for a long time. Another alternative is a Thermos tumbler. I found one on Amazon and have used it for years at work to make my tea. I liked the Thermos because it was spill proof.

DH likes his coffee hot and his water cold.  We have found that Yeti and Green Beast products really keep liquids either really hot or really cold.  Both brands come in a variety of sizes; we use 20 oz Yetis and 30 oz Green Beast ( for water that is always really cold).

Green Beasts are currently on sale on Amazon; they come with. lids and stainless straws and we buy the optional handles.  Both DH and my adult son can't survive without these; I even bought a backup for "just in case".

The QVC Primula mugs keep my coffee hot,the taller ones will still contain iced cold water even sitting all night long.

I like hot coffee/tea also.  I bought some stainless steel mugs and they work for keeping contents hot.  It's all we use now.  I bought them on Amazon.
