When you order a KCH how does it arrive and how long does it keep once you receive it?

Never ordered one because I get hams at ALDI.  OMG, so good for a ridiculously low price.  I know you didn't ask that, but over the past 3-4 years I have never had a bad spiral ham from there.. I'm serving one this Easter.

I get the KC Ham every year for Christmas and Easter.

It comes in a large styrofoam container with the dry ice.  It is usually still frozen well when I receive it.

Mine is always delivered right near the holiday, so I just defrost in the fridge in a couple days.  We smoke ours!

It is the BEST ham I have ever eaten (IMHO much better than Aldi's or Sam's) and worth every penny.

It is the only ham in the world I have ever purchased that is NOT salty.

Everything Respect said, plus it's vacuum-sealed so if you do want to store it away in the freezer it will store very well.  Just make sure there are no tears in the plastic.  But I've never had that happen so far and I've been getting them for many years.

I'd be scared of bacteria, etc.

Hi Sharke!  It arrives completely frozen in an ice chest type box with dry ice AND it's vacuum sealed in a very heavy plastic vac-bag.    The only way there w/b bacteria is if it got way-layed somewhere along the line, allowing it to thaw and sit around for a while, or the packaging was torn open.

In all the years I've purchased these (I bought two every year for quite a while but I've cut back in the last year or two), I have never had any of those things happen.

We have tried every ham there is and we alternate between Kansas City Spiral cut Salted Caramel glazed ham & Honey Baked Spiral cut ham.  It is a toss-up for us between those two hams.  Both are total winners for us.
