@BalletBabe Some of the food is more expensive than I generally spend, but that's not why I don't buy it. I don't buy it because I have no reason to have most prepared foods in the quantities companies offer for mass marketing. But I know if I were still young and healthy and hosting even small groups at home, I might well be a buyer.
As for how people spend their money? - If I'm not actively supporting them, I don't believe I get a say. Almost everyone I know spends money in ways I don't choose to - and I know for a fact that I spend lots of money in ways others don't.
Is there only one right way to spend discretionary money? I don't think there is.

I love food shows with the right hosts....yesty it was NOT those two....don't watch them, don't buy.
I will watch other Gourmet food shows even if I am not ordering.
It doesn't matter to me if ITKWD has just food or gizmos too.
QVC is going to air what sells.....so food must be selling.
I already pre-ordered my holiday Landies Splitz and Lindt treats.
Landies is made right here in Buffalo, but Q has better pricing!
And they do on the special Lindts assortments as well.

Yes the program guide stated it was a holiday food edition

Historically, ITKWD shows have not been food-heavy, so to speak, with the exception of these holiday shows which are almost exclusively food for sale.
I would estimate that his average, off-season show is 80% non-food merchandise/20% food merchandise, if that much.
I recall shows without a single food item for sale.

@aroc3435 wrote:@rockygems123 The selection of flavor profiles was fabulous. Two of last year's six flavors are returning--the Red Velvet Cake and I think I heard Alberti say the Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter, and four new taste combinations.
The ingredients were excellent and the pretzels are about four by three inches and generously topped and then covered in chocolate and whatever topping that goes with the particular taste. It's like pretzel meets candy filling, meets white or regular chocolate or dark, plus add ons sprinkled on top. They look like candy jewels.
They come in an attractive six holder box, two to each confection bay, and are individually wrapped. A little square booklet folded full color pamphlet with photos describes each offering and the reverse side lists the ingredients for each.
To me, they are as impressive as a box of good petit fours, or macrons, or madelaines, or marzipan.
Hope this description will help.

Yes, thank you your beautifully done detailed description really helps! Much more eloquent and detailed than the show descriptions, you've helped me decide

Why are you so surprised? It happens every year this time. People order for the holidays.

Way too many Food shows. Way too expensive and way too many repeats.

It's kinda hard to think about wanting food items shipped in summer heat. Not to mention heat-depressed consumer appetites during this time of year for what they're selling.
If I order shipped food that can spoil or become rancid or potentially get hung up in a delayed delivery, it makes me happier if the weather is cold.
Considering bizarre and extreme weather conditions this country has been experiencing lately, who can even predict that it will be cool in the fall and winter??
In a Wash DC suburb many years ago, I held a Christmas party for lots of people and counted on being able to keep some food cold out on the porch. My fridge wasn't big enough to hold it all.
The party night turned out warm and humid......very odd for December and not a plus for my party or the food.
Ya just never know this far ahead...........
