I grew them back in the 80s. It was a fun thing to do with the kids and we liked the fresh sprouts on our sandwiches. I had a clear plastic cylinder thingie that was made for growing sprouts. I remember that it had perforations on each end to facilitate rinsing and draining.
It was all really easy and took very little time. I think I may have bought the seeds at Whole Foods or a health food store of which there were many back then. I finally stopped because of the many e coli alerts.
