Ooh! You just cannot beat a good ribeye and the mushrooms sound wonderful, too.

I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these are "stuffed" and very good! I might just have gotten lucky but the times I have ordered rib-eye, it has been cooked just like I ordered it!

Longhorn is part of the Darden Restaurant Group. They have been opening in the Phx AZ area and seem to be good. We have not had any complaints when visiting. The one by our house also has a small bar area - if you like a drink before dinner. Also have nice specials at times.

Re: ISO Longhorn Chili Recipe

Thank you for requesting this, I am always on the look out for new recipes and not only did I find the recipe you are looking for, but a really neat website called recipesecrets.net

Longhorn Steakhouse Chili
Makes 4 servings Cook: 1 hour 20 minutes

1 large onion, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 pound ground beef
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp fresh chopped oregano leaves or 1 tsp dried
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red pepper sauce
1 can (16 oz) whole tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 or 16 oz) red kidney beans, undrained
shredded cheddar cheese
sour cream
whole chili pepper

Peel and dice the onion. Dice the celery. Peel
and crush the garlic.
Cook the beef, onion, celery and garlic in the
saucepan over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes,
stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
Stir in chili powder powder, oregano, salt,
pepper sauce and tomatoes with their liquid,
breaking up the tomatoes with a spoon or fork.
Heat the mixture to boiling over high heat.
Once mixture is boiling, reduce heat just enough
so mixture bubbles gently. Cover and cook
1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the beans with their liquid. Heat to
boiling over high heat. Once mixture is
boiling, reduce heat just enough so mixture
bubbles gently. Cook uncovered about 20 minutes,
stirring occasionally, until desired thickness.
Garnish with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and
whole chili pepper.

Re: ISO Longhorn Chili Recipe

Tkins, Thank you so very much for the recipe -- especially for writing it all down. One glitch -- our Longhorn does not add beans to their chili. I'm sure I can try it without the beans. That web site looks interesting.

Re: ISO Longhorn Chili Recipe

coffee drinker, You are very welcome. I did find one other recipe and I went to their website and discovered at the very bottom of the page at the far right under FIND they have a recipe section and I didn't see the chili recipe there, but I bet if you email them they might send it to you. Here is the other recipe I found (the page I got it off of had the same picture and information as the restaurant website so maybe it is the same).

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup green pepper
2 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 tablespoons texas pete
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes

Brown ground beef; combine browned beef with all remaining ingredients in a large stockpot and simmer for 2 hours until ready to serve.
