Re: 🤣 I was in a trance 🤣

@QVCkitty1  I'm another one who gets drawn in by kitchen gadgets.  Oftentimes there will be a post in my Facebook feed about them and I can't resist clicking through and having a look.

Last fall I purchased a shredder/grater thing from HSN.  The base grips the counter with suction and you turn the crank handle as you push the food though.  I'm telling you, I love that thing!  I use it for shredding my own cheese, chopping nuts, shredding zucchini, chopping hard cooked eggs.  It is so handy and I don't have to pull out the big food processor, to get a quick job done.  I like it so much that I went back and bought like 9 or 10 more for gifts.

@JeanLouiseFinch , This is the one I was talking about. It looks really slick, which is why I almost ordered it even though I don't need it.

I love, love, LOVE my pull-n-chop!

I don't buy a lot of gadgets, but if this one broke I'd order another one immediately.  The other gadget I can't live without is my immersion blender.

@house_cat , I love my immersion blender, I use it when I'm making soup and it makes short work of pureeing whole tomatoes. About 10 years ago my grocery store was offering small Cuisnart appliances with reward points, and that's how I got my blender !

@JeanLouiseFinch I bought that last year and haven't even used it.  But, if I ever need to shred a bunch of cheese, I'm ready.   I keep a lot of shredded cheeses in the fridge and for the things I use THEM for, the coating they put on them haven't been an issue.

I had for my Vitamix.....

@MalibuFox Luckily, I haven't fallen for that one yet.  Part of my problem is, I'm such a picky eater, and I'm not one to experiment trying to come up with a recipe.  And then, you have to gather all the ingredients and prep them before using them.

I have a Wolfgang Puck blender, and we recently we got a nugget ice machine (not on the Q).  Should be great for smoothies, right?  Finally picked up a fresh fruit smoothie mix and made a smoothie in it.  Meh.  It tasted good, but not so great that I want to make smoothies on a daily basis.  I don't like protein powders, so that route is out.  I see some of the frozen smoothie mixes don't require ice.

I'll probably use that nugget ice more in the summer when I'm out working in the yard.  But, DH loves it.  He uses that As Seen on TV Magic Bullet for his smoothies though, LOL.  He commented that my WP blender was loud, which it is.  I have his food processor and was surprised at how quiet it is.

And then I'll also need that special jar for grinding my own flour, right?

Nugget ice machine!?! If you only knew how seriiously, for real, jealous i am. So much so ...Im embarrassed!

I would love to make slushies in my Ninja blender using sugsr free flavoring or diet sodas. Cant buy those.  I just dont have an icemaker in my fridge ( didnt connect it because its an old house with hard water that tastes terrible.).

I have to buy bagged ice, its not practical to use for slushies as much as id want to because it would use so much ice. I will do this in summer when i just gotta have one. If i had a nugget mschine, i could stockpile! HUG it fir me 🤣

@LizzieInSRQ I'm going to tempt you here.  My husband actually mentioned one on Costco, I think it was a Frigidaire.  You would think a big name brand like that would get good reviews, but it didn't.  So, I found this one on Amazon, cheaper and gets good reviews.  Makes more ice than the ones I had looked at before, but less than the Costco Frigidaire one. I know it's an off brand, but we've had it for a few months now with no problems.

Don't think you have to rush due to the "Limited time deal".  From watching this particular one, my experience has been that the price will go up, but if you look down below that, there will be an instant coupon you can check to apply, so it's actually in that price range all the time. However, if you're wanting one of the colors, you might not get the great deal, so keep an eye on that if you decide you want a color.

@Icegoddess believe me, ill the take your word on ice machines... you are literally THE iceGoddess lolol.

I dont mind offbrands at all. They likely manufacture for the big brands like Acer does for computers. Thank you for all your work to give me this info! Ill keep it. Unfortunately its just not in my budget right now. Since my home insurance has tripled,  as has groceries increased and had to take a 32% pay cut 2 yrs ago to get a job ...i literally had to put the Oscar Meyer Beef Bologna ($8.79!!!!) back on the shelf and buy the umm...pork beef chicken (?) Oscar Meyer simply labeled Bologna ( $3.79).about 30 mimutes ago.

Enjoy your ice machine and have a lemon slushie with vodka!!

@QVCkitty1 I bought one of those too. I love mine - use it all the time especially for grating cheese if I am making tacos! saves my fingers from getting grated along with the cheese.
