I spend some of each day on TikTok and although I enjoy many of the videos, I have never purchased from the TikTok shop. I figure if the product is that appealing I will find it on Amazon or somewhere else. Recently many of the pages have been really pushing this cheese grater, slicer. I kept seeing it over and over to the point where I thought wow I need this . I even went to Amazon where the same grater was considerably more money. Finally, common sense kicked in, I hardly ever use cheese and as for slicing, I have a knife. I can see how people are influenced because the products are pretty cheap. Thank goodness the Kitty snapped out of her trance. Why are kitchen gadgets so appealing ? LOL

hahahaha, don't even get me started on all the great plans
I had for my Vitamix.....

Oh yes, the Vitamix fiasco....I bought enough cashews to make cashew butter with the Vitamix I bought. Should be as simple as pressing a button like the demo on TV...NOT.
Returned the machine and had to dispose of the mess of cashews.

@MalibuFox Luckily, I haven't fallen for that one yet. Part of my problem is, I'm such a picky eater, and I'm not one to experiment trying to come up with a recipe. And then, you have to gather all the ingredients and prep them before using them.
I have a Wolfgang Puck blender, and we recently we got a nugget ice machine (not on the Q). Should be great for smoothies, right? Finally picked up a fresh fruit smoothie mix and made a smoothie in it. Meh. It tasted good, but not so great that I want to make smoothies on a daily basis. I don't like protein powders, so that route is out. I see some of the frozen smoothie mixes don't require ice.
I'll probably use that nugget ice more in the summer when I'm out working in the yard. But, DH loves it. He uses that As Seen on TV Magic Bullet for his smoothies though, LOL. He commented that my WP blender was loud, which it is. I have his food processor and was surprised at how quiet it is.
And then I'll also need that special jar for grinding my own flour, right?

ha I do use my Vitamix but not for making nut butters. That just looked way too messy for me. Our Amish market sells small containers of whole nut butters - all kinds of variety - included chocolate/almond which is yummy. I settled for buying a container & keeping it in the fridge. I eat it with apple slices for a snack.
I do totally understand the appeal though of the infomercials. Ginzu knives. LOL

I feel your pain on kitchen gadgets @SandySparkles and @QVCkitty1! Thank goodness I don't watch TikTok or Instagram.
I'm still trying to talk myself down from getting a Kuhn Rikon pull and chop after so many folks here in the forum said it was there favorite gadget recently.
Now, the TSV GreenPan multi-cooker looks swell, but another big appliance hanging around
Ah...no thank you.
In the meantime...my toaster oven, frying/saute pan, small saucepot, and 30+ year old Le Creuset dutch oven are doing the job.

@nwbabs @The good thing about the pull and chop is that it is small. Also it is inexpensive and above all useful.
