I am a person that loves to Iron my clothes.
I now use my dishwasher, but when I use to wash them by hand. I thought the same thing. It' just so much easier to hand wash them, then to load the dishwasher, and unload the next day.
Sigh... First world problems right.
@icezeus You have to put the dishes away whether you hand wash and dry them or use the dishwasher. . . don't get how that is a problem.

@BunSnoop wrote:@shoesnbags , I agree how I wrote it may sound gross. I should of added that I use old/torn/stained dish rags that I store under the sink that I use just for the fast wipe of the floors. They're no longer used for dishes.
Whew! Now I feel better @BunSnoop . But I'm still trying to figure how you mop the floor with a dish rag. Hands and knees? Moving it around with your foot? Is it a really small kitchen? Having trouble picturing this, lol.

I despise washing dishes with a passion. Several years ago, our Whirlpool dishwasher's motherboard melted down. We went about six weeks with no dishwasher and I hated every minute. DH would say as we were washing dishes, "The couple who washes dishes together stays together." And he always dried the dishes.
But, after six weeks of that nonsense, I finally told DH, "Either we get a new dishwasher or I'm not baking anything anymore!" In three days, the Bosch was installed.
I will vacuum, I will dust. I will cheerfully do the laundry. I will wash windows without a complaint. But please, Lord, do NOT make me wash dishes!

I still run mine. I don't do it everyday. Never did. Unless we have people over for dinner. DW sterilize the dishes. So nothing gets it clean as a DW.

I do love the way the dishwasher gets everything SO very clean! Also not having so many damp dish cloths, towels and such to worry about staying around and getting smelly.
Having a dishwasher that dries the dishes if heavenly! We run ours every night full or not because everything is clean and smelling good when we start out day!
Any glass we use goes in, any fork, little plate or cup. It is amazing how many we use during the day. Take a clean cup out in the morning, put the teabag and hot water in and when the tea is ready, the dishes are put away!

@shoesnbags The old fashioned way...hands and knees. Kitchen is standard size.

My hat is off to you, and my grandma would be so pleased. I never did the hands and knees style floor cleaning in my 20s, and I guarantee I won't be doing it in my 70s. For me, that's what mops are for.
ETA I appreciate your reply!

The only dishes I hand wash are the ones that are not dishwasher safe. I don't have many of those. Maybe it's just me but putting the dishes in the dishwasher and pushing a button seems a lot easier and quicker than filling the sink, washing them and then rinsing them and then drying them with a dish towel. When it was just the two of us, we put everything in the dishwasher all day and just ran it once a day after dinner.

I wash all my dishes by hand. I wash them right after we use them. I don't like seeing dirty dishes in the sink.

I hate seeing anything dirty sitting in my sink, too, but that doesn't make me want to hand wash everything. I just rinse things and put them in the dishwasher as we dirty them.
Dishwasher is run when it's full, which is about every other day. I had NO idea there were so many people who don't use dishwashers at all! I thought I was being picky because I still hand wash plastics, casseroles and pots and pans.
