Hungry Girl Clean - Obsessed

Does anyone know if the new Hungry Girl Clean Hungry Girl Obsessed still uses things like stevia and other sugar substitutes? My idea of eating clean is trying not to use anything refined. In other words, not using anything other than whole foods - foods that have been changed into something else.

I do not have an answer to that . I know I have limited room for cookbooks and only want ones I will use. My solution is to see if my library has them either in actual books or hopefully to stream them ( if you're offered that free). It is a bit of trouble but I save $$s and space . Also google . Amazon always has a lot of reviews with info.

I agree with your way of trying to eat.  I have given up on artificial sweetners . I have never had a stevia one that tastes good to me.

@okaywitheasypayThanks for the info. I looked up the new cookbook on Amazon (cheaper there, by the way), but it didn't offer any sample recipes or reviews containing ingredients. I just hate it when a cookbook promises a new way of cooking, only to provide the same tired sugar substitutes and smaller portions. I don't have a lot of room for cookbooks, but I do like to read them as a genre and for new ideas.

Check out her website.

I'm on her email list, she sends out a few recipes every day.

@PA Mom-mom was going to say what @software said!  From her web site you can email her with questions. She also sends out new food product items once a week when you sign up for her daily emails, I really like her website.  I checked Amazon for you as well but couldn't find any info.

@PA Mom-mom

Yep, she does.

Out of curiosity, I Amazon's her book...and scanned through it.

Yep, the shopping list talks about stevia, etc.

I used to think Stevia was the cat's meow...but I've been reading

more & more about it....causing me not to purchase it again.

Re: Hungry Girl Clean - Obsessed

@PA Mom-momty for posting this! I couldn't answer your ? very well but I hadn't paid much attention to this author until now. I saw her book "Clean and Hungry -easy all natural recipes for healthy eating in the real world " copyright 2016 at a thrift store , in excellent condition for $1.06 (I had a 1/2 price coupon Smiley Happy )

It is a lovely cb with a lot of pictures and great looking recipes that I plan to try. Some do have 'sweetners' in them but can probably use just less sugar /lower glycemic? All single servings are under 375 in this one ,and what I have thumbed thru are 1 -4 servings which is good for me.

I bought her original book and was really disappointed.  I'm checking library copy before I buy.

From what I have read, stevia, in the way it's commonly produced for food use, is both highly processed and weakly mutagenic. I've never had it, but if I were trying to eat "clean," it wouldn't be on my plate.
