Re: How to take care of my Temptations Cookware so it doesn't crack

To all of those out there that bought the temptations casserole dishes or any of the glassware items.  These items should be treated like PYREX/Corelleware .

When baking something say a cake mix lightly grease/flour your pan and fill it with the  item you want to bake.(if directions say to grease/flour).

Once the pan is in a COLD oven then you preheat/set your oven temp.

Let your oven reach temprature then set your timer for the required bake/cook time.

This should prevent your cookware from thermal shock.

If you are taking something out from the freezer set it out on your counter top and let it thaw out up to 4 hours before you want to put it in the oven.  and place your baker in the oven with the oven COLD.  Then preheat and set your oven temprature and timer for how long you want the item to cook for.

I hope this helps.

Re: How to take care of my Temptations Cookware so it doesn't crack

I've had temptations crack. Qvc replaced it. Some one told me at walmart she has a lot of temptations sets and never preheats her oven when using temptations. I am not sure about buying more temptations as they seem cheaply made. You spend hard earn money on Temptations and then they crack. Temptations are pretty and they would be so nice oven to table but not if they crack. Pyrex does not crack like the Temptation does. It's not as pretty but at least you're not wasting your money on something that cracks. I wish they would make Temptations a lot better so they did not crack as easily. I still have a set of balls and two 9 by 13 Bakers and a 8x8 or 9x9 baker and 2 loaf pans and a loaf pan for meat loaf. But very unsure if I well buy more temptations. Some people have tuns of temptations sets and never have problems. Wish temptations held up better.

Re: How to take care of my Temptations Cookware so it doesn't crack

So with temptations you don't preheat oven? I'm so used to preheating my oven first. I tried finding information on wether or not to preheat the oven with temptations and could not find information on it. Some people say they never preheat oven and some say put baker in cold oven then turn oven on so you don't shock temptations. Confused on that??? Any one know which to do? Preheat oven then put temptations in or start out in a cold oven then turn oven on? Thanks.

Re: How to take care of my Temptations Cookware so it doesn't crack

My sets are old and I have never had any crack.  I freeze in them, bake, etc.  I had one square dish that did get some lines on the bottom, so I discarded it.  I haven't bought any in years now since my last couple of orders were returns as they were either already cracked or a much lesser quality.   I do not order any more because I know the quality is not like the original pieces.

Re: How to take care of my Temptations Cookware so it doesn't crack

I had 2 sets of bakeware and some casseroles - I needed to purge some casseroles so I got rid of the TT ones, due to everyone telling me I'm tempting fate using them. I still have my original TT set and use it almost daily to either bake in or serve in as it looks cute with my dishes. I think the reason mine have lasted so well is because they are from when QVC first brought TT on - I believe they were much better quallity in the beginning. I haven't bought anything new in years.
