mtc, I've been online for about an hour collecting PC recipes. Interesting that so many of them are ones I remember from my childhood.
This is going to be fun ![]()

Have any of you OCD people found a way to get the odor out of the silicone gasket? I don't use garlic, but I use a lot of onions and I think that is what is causing the odor.

Dawn is famous for getting out food odors on things but you're supposed to soak the item in warm Dawn water. I don't know if that would be OK for the gasket or not.
DH once chopped garlic and stored it with saran wrap over it in a cute little plastic dipping bowl I had, and nothing I tried got the odor out. Then I remembered the Dawn advice, he went to the store for some, I soaked the little bowl twice, about an hour each, and IT WORKED like a charm!

I copied this from eHow:
Once the source of the odor has been removed, the odor may remain. Baking soda has natural deodorizing properties and will not impart any scent of its own. Create a paste of equal parts baking soda and warm water. Rub this paste over the silicone and allow it to sit overnight. Scrub off the paste with a clean kitchen sponge.

Maybe if you mixed baking soda with Dawn Detergent that would really work!

I've used baking soda for years and usually it works. It didn't work on my little plastic bowl, though.
Think Dawn as a backup for most things ![]()

Speaking of pressure cooker recipes, I was so bummed yesterday!
Looking for PC recipes it occurred to me that the Betty Crocker site always has good ideas and recipes, so I looked there.
Got a message that they had NO PC recipes. Say what? Good old reliable Betty?
