Hi,
Finally got to try out my new pressure cooker from the Q TSV. It was wonderful! I used the recipe for pork shoulder in the recipe book that came with it.
We're not sure how to clean the top lid, inside. It's not bad, but how do you do it?
Do you have to remove the little pieces and wipe it down with a damp paper towel? What to do?

I just squirt in some dishwashing liquid and swish it around. If it has gasket leave it alone. Once you start taking them out and trying to smooch it back in again they stretch out and twist, etc. P on that I just rinse and air dry.

Thanks, sharke!
I didn't see anything in the instructions about cleaning the lid, an oversight imo.

Oh Noel, I am so happy you are pleased with your PC . . . welcome to the wonderful world of pressure cooking! ![]()

Hi mtc!
I can't wait to try more! I went ahead and ordered David's CB from here because he has a PCooker chapter, and I pre-ordered Merideth's new PC CB. I liked everything she had to say about what you can do with it, etc.

Hi Noel, it really is a great way of cooking without heating up the kitchen or for some recipes taking all day if you don't have the time (or in my case the talent as the PC has made me a better cook).
Hopefully with these new electric PC's the old myths and horror stories will fade away and more people will give it a try . . . . ![]()

I am OCD about keeping my electric PC clean. I take the lid apart, remove the gasket and give it all a thorough hand washing. The gasket can absorb odors. I also have a straightened paper clip to make sure the safety valves are clear.

I've used my pressure cooker for several years now. I hold the lid with my left hand over the sink, and with the dishrag in my right hand, I give the inside a good washing with regular dishwater. Then I rinse with clean water from the spigot, then prop it up to drain and dry before putting it away. Just don't immerse the entire lid.

Lacey, thank you for mentioning the paper clip trick!
DH cleaned the PC last night and I was worried that he'd removed and washed the gasket, now I can rest easy ![]()

Thanks, RedTop, that sounds perfect to me! Yes, we were all afraid to immerse it.
