Re: How Many are NOT Doing a Big Thanksgiving Meal?

For years I'd cook big meals for many people, but the past few years we've had smaller meals and get togethers and there's no going back.

I think I'll wait until a weekend in December and make a turkey breast with some of the traditional sides. That way, we can eat on leftovers when my work schedule gets busy.

Re: How Many are NOT Doing a Big Thanksgiving Meal?

I cooked the Thanksgiving meal for years and everyone came to our house and brought a dish. That was wonderful.

This year we have had a tragedy in the family and we are still in mourning and I just couldn't do it. So five of us decided to go out and have a meal. The rest of the family did ""their thing"" and that's OK. I kinda enjoyed not having the cooking and cleanup so from now on that's probably what I'll do.

I hope each of you had a wonderful day no matter what you decided to do.

Re: How Many are NOT Doing a Big Thanksgiving Meal?

I cooked dinner at noon for my little family of 5. It went very well. Then we drove 2 hours across the state because we have a Big 10 college football game at 11 in the morning. We are staying at a Super 8 motel and they served a free Thanksgiving dinner tonight for all the guests! And it was very good! I thought it was very thoughtful of the staff here.
