I've purchased numerous food products from QVC over the years (so go ahead and call me an idiot, I don't care), but I'm noticing just lately that most of their food items have become exponentially MORE expensive.
I saw a few of the things on this current show, this afternoon, that were priced higher than I ever could have imagined.
I have to just watch something recorded and, every 30 minutes, I go back to QVC, hit the RR button to go back 30 minutes and pretty much FF through everything unless I see something I want to watch.
I'm not even going to get into Sharon & Dan, except to say that they are about 60% of the reason I FF through most of it.

When you smoke the holy smokes, you'll be hungry enough to pay that much.

I bought the Cheryl's cookies package once. The cookies were very small, and even though it is stressed during the presentations that they are packaged fresh, the cookies I received were stale. Won't buy again.

I've been burned by the food on the Q.... can't believe I paid $70 for a Smithfield ham last Christmas and it was small, fatty and had a HUGE bone!
I love bacon too, and buy mine at Sam's Club, roughly about $15.
I don't buy their food products any more. Oh, I'll pick up the Chocolates or maybe the cookies.... once I bought the Jrs Cheezecake, but that's it and only for guests...
Our Supermarket here had a huge supply of My Grandma's cakes over Christmas. They reduced the price by a whopping 60% so I bought one ... and it was ok. Not the omg I thought it would be. So that one's out for me too....
I think they've jacked up the prices in order to provide "free" shipping.

First, the price is not that unreasonable for premium bacon which is shipped to one's home. While some people are happy with supermarket bacon, there are those who will splurge for premium bacon (or meats or cheeses or some other product) because they enjoy it. I usually buy sugar-cured bacon from a local producer for around $8 per pound, but I do occasionally purchase other bacon that costs around $12 per pound plus shipping. I would raher pay more for something good and eat it less often that have dull, mass-produced supermarket bacon more often. It is a personal preference.
I am sure the posters here expressing doubt and disdain for such prices splurge on things I would find ridiculous. So what? How each of us chooses to spend our money and what we find to be of value to us is our business. If you do not like something, do not buy it. If you do not like something presented on QVC, do not watch it. But please explain where one gets off criticizing and judging how others spend their money?

Depending on variety my butcher has bacon from $3.99-$4.99lb. Every day. No need for a sale.
The last time I bought a cheap packaged brand at the grocery on sale for $2.99 I was really disappointed. Didn't cook or crisp well and the taste was something to be desired.
We don't have it often but it's nice to know when I spend the $ it's worth it.

The price of this bacon will give me the swine flu.

It's time to cut down on bacon .... it's basically fatty meat with lots of sodium and chemicals in it ...... I'll have less and be fine.
