I ordered 2 sets, one round and one rectangle. The boxe are still unopened in my garage. Has anyone opened theirs yet? I plan on filling them with candy. I have 6 pounds of Harry London on order. I do not bake. Any other suggestions? I understand they are pretty big at 5 cups.

I know! lol. I clearly need to rethink this. What do you think of this idea. I had planned to put a few other things in the bag. So, I'm thinking I will put the non edibles in the container and some candy just in the bag loose.

Londor Truffles by Lindt...they come in many flavors. Or any other fine individually wrapped candies. Homemade candies, fudge, peanut brittle type of things do not require a lot of "baking" skill. Add some individually wrapped cookies too, such as Cheryl's available on the Q or other brands. Custom tailor them for the people you are gifting them to. If person is a cook or baker, perhaps some good quality cooking or baking spices or seasonings. To a child maybe a busy box filled with small items to take in the car or for a vacation or a road trip...small toys, small books or coloring books, crayons or colored pencils. Or fill it with sidewalk chalk or some items simlar so they have a place to keep everything. Use your imagination & have fun!
Even gift cards!

I ordered a set of each as well but i am keeping mine. I will use the bags for gift giving. I bought the sets last year too and same size but i like the handle lids. I share the sets with my daughter who uses them for the kids crafts and then some. They go back and forth with left overs and things between the the houses.

I got the rectangle set and opened it. I haven't used it, but it looks to be a good size.
How about getting cellophane and wrapping the candy or crumbling the cellophane and using it as a filler.

I have filled them with cookies or bars, but this year I will fill them with "Puppy Chow." My recipe uses chex cereal, peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter, and then toss in confectioner's sugar. It's a snack treat.

@Warrior2022 - I agree with @GCR18—perhaps adding a bit of filler such as tissue paper to the containers will be helpful in making the candy take up more space; the dollar store usually starts stocking festive tissue around this time of year, so you wouldn't have to spend much more to complete your gifts. And I'm sure your recipients will be happy with the larger containers once they start using them, so this seems like a nice "problem" to have. Good luck!

I got the cannisters and they are really cute. Not sure what I'll do with them yet. They're a good size for so many things. Lots of good ideas listed on this thread. Enjoy.

I got a set of each, but I'm keeping them for myself. Suggestions .... you can put packets of hot chocolate in them, if a person is a tea drinker, they have different flavors of tea bags, can put candy canes in them. Shop the dollar stores for fillers as well.
If giving the gift to a guy or even single women can use some of the household items, like I said, going to the dollar store, they have little flash lights, maybe a scewdriver, etc.
