After hard boiling, can you peel them all at once and keep in a container.  I have always peeled them right before eating, but I would like to just get out one for a snack w/out having to peel it first.

I know you aren't supposed to keep them more than a week, but was wondering about the peeling.  Thanks for your responses Smiley Happy

Re: Hard Boiled Egg Question

I've put prepared deviled eggs in the fridge, and the egg white part did not get funny, so I guess you can, at least for a few hours.

Re: Hard Boiled Egg Question

I always remove the shell immediately after cooking.  Put in ice cold water for a few minutes - want to get eggs cooled down as fast as possible.

Yes, of course. I buy a 6 pack of HB peeled eggs at the grocery store all the time, they stay fresh in the fridge, tightly closed in the bag for about 2 weeks or so.

Re: Hard Boiled Egg Question

Sure can!

When I boil eggs, I usually boil 6 for snacking, peel them and store in a lock & lock container.

I also put my eggs in cold water as sooon as they are ready. I then crack the shells with the handle of a knife so the cold water gets underneath. The shells come off easily 99% of the time. I put them in a lock and lock for eating up to 3 days later.

Re: Hard Boiled Egg Question

@fthunt  I do the same, submerging in ice immediately after cooking.  I keep the peeled eggs in the fridge for up to a week.

I also remove after cooking.  Put the eggs in an ice bath and then peel.  I always use eggs that are at least a week old because they peel much better.
