@Desertdi   I have just the casserole dish you posted on the "hot plate."

It was part of a set.  If you look on e-bay and check the prices out for older Corning ware, you will see you are sitting on a goldmine.  Those pieces are selling for unheard of prices.

I have never seen the " the thing" you posted.  Maybe it's rare.

I found it.  Make sure you're sitting down.

@Carmie     Holy cow!     I don't have the original packaging, or any "leaflets" that might have come with it.    I "think" it might have originally belonged to my grandma...(but it doesn't even look like it's ever been used.)    di

I love Ninja products but agree with you on this one.  It's much like the recent Green Pan multi-cooker that was on, I believe, HSN a few weeks ago.  To me, it's not a true slow cooker if the heat is coming from the bottom only and not surrounding the sides of the cooker.

@SharkE : On ebay: some of the sellers post items for sale and the funds are for certain charity groups . Groups like goodwill, animal shelters .

Re: HSN TS Ninja Foodi Cooker

@Desertdi   I saw a few of those hot plates on e-bay.  A few were affordable, but the 10k one got my attention.

That price blew me away.

I have noticed that corningware casserole dishes are in demand.  The prices have been going up.

My youngest son likes to browse antique shops and he often tells me how much my everyday used pieces are selling for.

Heck, he even saw my Rubbermaid silverware holder going for an inflated price.

We are sitting on some big money, huh?

Like that commercial "she doesn't know she's sitting on a goldmine".

So sick of that silly commercial.

Re: HSN TS Ninja Foodi Cooker

i have to say i am very tempted by this!

the merlot in particular.

i entertain quite a bit and this is perfect when you dont have any stovespace left OR when you want to keep something warm while serving OR also good when you dont want to heat up the oven.

i like that you can SEAR in it and then you can slow cook in it.....one pot, one meal.

@In-x-s I just came home and turned on the TV and QVC2 was on with that Green Pan Multi-Cooker.  It's K-93004 for $104.98.  One advantage of the Green Pan one is that it comes with a grill/griddle plate that fits on the bottom.  But the S/H is $15.22, wow.

WOW is right!  When it was the TSV it was $99 with free shipping and I'll admit that the grill/griddle enticed me.  I had tried the Ninja Sizzle Grill/Griddle but it was just too big to drag out for just the two of us, although it gets great reviews.  I gave it to a relative and was enticed by the Green Pan as a replacement but, like I said, the slow cooker just sitting on a hot plate just didn't convince me.
