I normally drink either white wine or vodka on the rocks.  Who knew that gin bottles look surprisingly similar to vodka, lol.  Anyway, I tried straight gin on the rocks & w/a little bit of vermouth but to me they both taste like some kind of bushy plant, not that I've ever tried that but ... Any ideas for drinking gin, thanks.

To me it tastes like some kind of disinfectant cleaner, the only hard alcohol I can drink straight is jameson whiskey but I only drink a few times a year.

Personally, don't like gin but friends love gin and tonic.

@colleena

Try a Tom Collins.

Ingredients ; 2 ounces London dry gin ; 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed ; 1/2 ounce simple syrup ; Club soda, to top ; lemon wheel.

Tastes kind of like lemonade to me.  Great on a hot day.

gin and gingerale or gin and seven up or sprite with a squeeze of lime.  Only Tangeray.

Gin is my drink of choice (unless is an ice cream drink like Brandy Alexander) but I never did like gin and tonic; that is much too bitter.

@colleena, as another poster mentioned, a gin & tonic is a classic.

Pour gin over ice, add tonic water & squeeze in some fresh lime. Refreshing!

As far as gin tasting like "a bushy plant", the 1st time I tasted it, it reminded me of pine needles.

Gin is made from juniper berries, so you were correct in saying that it tastes like a bushy plant!

On the website Insanely Good recipes they have 17 Classic Gin Cocktails listed. Some of them sound delicious to try.

I think an Aviation is a special gin drink. I always use Hendricks gin because I don't find it to be "junipery".😄

It makes a beautiful presentation.
