A few questions...how do you store your fresh herbs and do you wash them before using?

I find by putting them in a jar or glass with some water ( on the counter) helps them stay fresher longer.

Parsley and basil I wash first, then pat dry with paper towels. I put them in a small ziploc bag then in a plastic container and put in the freezer. When I need some I break a chunk off and use it that way.

I wash my herbs just  before I use them----store them in damp paper towels in the refer or in a jar of water too, if they need a little perking up.

I find wrapping them in a damp paper towel and storing in a ziploc bag in refrigerator works for a couple weeks.

I have been thinking for a long time that I would get a table top grow light potting container and grow herbs.  I have not pulled the trigger yet.

Anyone here have one?  Do you use it and is it worth the money?

@Imaoldhippie  I've been thinking the same thing about the tabletop grower for herbs.

I think I posted about this before, but my neighbor has given me a few stalks of basil to cook with............ended up putting them in an old pill bottle filled w/water (on a windowsill). The oldest stalk has grown roots.
