DH saw a couple guys selling fresh sweet corn. He bought a bushel. It's so sweet we ate a piece right off the cob.

He will be back with watermelons in 3 weeks.

Making creamed corn for dinner.

@Nightowlz  Delicious! We don't have any local sweet corn yet in eastern PA; probably not for a few weeks. However, with the heat we've been having, it may come earlier. The grocery stores have "fresh" corn, but it must be from down south. Enjoy!

I live in Illinois and it is corn country.  🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽

The corn from the family farm where I buy mine will be ready in about 2 weeks!  I cannot wait.  Best corn on the planet!

@PA Mom-mom

We have bought corn in the grocery store once that was good. The rest so far has had no flavor.

The fresh picked corn DH picked up is really good.

Same with the watermelons, We have had a few pretty good watermelons. Have thrown away 4 so far.

@4kitties

Enjoy! Nothing like fresh sweet corn from your family farm. Everything you grow always tastes better.

@Nightowlz

Just to make sure, it is not my family farm, but a smaller, family owned farm that grows lots of wonderful veggies and sells them.

I am afraid if I tried to farm I would probably starve!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Haven't bought corn on the cob at the grocery in years.

I was buying from our local open air market but switched 2 years ago. A few guys at our local VFW have been getting fresh picked corn and selling it same day. Same with a few other root vegetables.

Their profits support their local VFW out reach programs.

@4kitties The only fun part of farming in my book and my dad's book was driving all that big roaring equipment around!  Now THAT is a blast!
