Growing up and living with my mother, Joy was always used in the house. She still uses it. I hate the smell. My go to brand living on my own is Palmolive.

I only wash a small amount of dishes by hand. Most things go in the dishwasher where I use generic pacs. They do a fine job too.

@ciao_bella  Been waiting to catch up with you.  My pain on the top of the foot is almost non-existant since you suggested that site.  It's working!!  Thank you again so much.

@qualitygal  From one painful foot bone spur sufferer to another, I know of what I speak!  lol    It was the only thing that worked for me, and now I'm very careful about any shoes that put undo pressure on that area on the top of my foot.  Using this shoelace method, the inflammation caused by the bone spur will dissipate in time.  I'm so glad it helped you.  I know all too well how painful this can be.

Dawn and mostly hand washing.  Just easier with two of us.  I have not tried Dawn power wash on a tough clothes stain.  Thanks!  @ciao_bella  I will try it.  But I usually use oxy clean on stains that works pretty well.

I use Dawn dish soap BUT I am going to change. I find that when I hand wash dishes  with Dawn I have to rinse and rinse to get the soap off the dish. I want to try a dish soap that doesn't have to be rinsed so much. I end up using gallons of water on one dish.

I have a dishwasher and use it maybe once a week. I now use Finish and am so pleased with it. I had always used Cascade and got tired of having to rewash some of the dishes after I ran the dishwasher.

@drizzellla I totally agree about Dawn.  It sure isn't what it used to be. My favorite and I think the best for hand-washing is Williams-Sonoma.  I buy the huge jugs when they are on sale!

We use the dishwasher every day--just the two of us--big or small load, and unload it in the morning.  It keeps the mess and dirty dishes out of the sink.  It's worth it to enjoy the kitchen more. With a small load,we put the racks from the sink in too.
