Years ago I had an electric skillet that I loved. I stopped using it because it had a Teflon coating and it started to come off. I would like to get a new one as I found it very versatile. I would like recommendations from some of you that may own and use one. I'm considering these but am open to suggestions and/or opinions on which of these might be better and why? I'd also like it to be deep enough to deep fry in. Thanks!

We had one when cooking for a family of six. It was a rectangular one that could cook 6 at a time of pancakes, French toast, burgers, chicken breasts, etc. It was quite handy. Good luck.

Years ago I received a Farberware electric skillet as a wedding present and it was the best thing ever. Lasted for years and years. After that I bought one from QVC but I was much happier with the Farberware. I swear, everything was better and more tender prepared in that skillet. When the one I have bites the bullet, I will definitely try to find a Farberware!

I too have the Farberware, given to me as a wedding gift 50 years ago in 1968. I don't use it as much as I used to when we were raising a family, but now and then I still get it out of the cupboard. I think it was so well used because I grew up watching my mother cook in an electric skillet -- we tend to do things the way our moms did when it comes to homemaking I think. Back when my skillet was maybe 10 years old or so I broke off one of the legs while washing it in my kitchen sink. I remember calling Farberware, and they had me send the skillet to them with free shipping both ways. When the skillet came back to me it not only had a brand new leg but the Farberware people had cleaned it up all shiney - it looked brand new! That's the great customer service of the old days!

I have it too. Idon't know why I put it away for a lot of years. I like it to fry steak or pork chops because of more even frying heat compared to my flat top cook top. It is the best for pancakes.

I had an electric skillet back 40 years ago when I was newly married. Life has evolved and I haven't had one in my home in years. Don't miss it.

I loved mine too. Got it as a wedding gift 40 years ago. Mine was square and had the Teflon coating. I forget the brand. I seemed to only use it for pancakes and French toast though. It became a pain to get out just for this. So a few years ago I bough a T-Fal griddle pan and I use that now instead. Good luck in your search.
