Last time we got a dozen of eggs they were 6.99 for the dozen. That iis way up from what they used to be.

Pasture raised eggs were $6.19 per dozen, at Aldi the other day. I'll pay what I have to, to get them. Only if they were unavailable would I go to a different kind, like organic cage free (which cage free is a gimmick that means absolutely nothing).
I honestly don't understand the complaints about egg prices. They are real food and usually a weekly or biweekly purchase for most consumers. Yet there are people who will spend $6-$8 on a daily coffee run, buy fast food, etc. and waste a bunch of money that way without a second thought.

Placed an Amazon order earlier for coffee. Price increases will indeed be a challenge for many of us. Only time will tell how things play out. With eggs being a good source of protein I will continue to buy them.

Safeway has eggs for $3.97 a dozen, limit two. I did buy any because I just bought 18 brown, cage free eggs at Sprouts for $5.72.

I understand the complaints about egg prices. It's because, as you stated, eggs are a weekly or biweekly purchases for most consumers. I usually buy Vital Farms eggs at Target for 7.69. Now it's 10.99. That's over 3.00 in less than 2 weeks.
Who's to say that people complaining about egg prices are the same people who spends money on 6-8 dollar daily coffee, fast food. If you already have a tight grocery budget, the jump in egg prices isn't a chump change.
Just an FYI: If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, they have one the best prices in eggs. Until couple weeks ago, Target had the best price for Vital Farms eggs.

In my state, it was hard finding eggs at Publix. Luckily, I found them on Costco.

So, egg prices have been fluctuating wildly since this post first started in Aug 2024. Saturday, I got a dozen Egglands Best for $6.99. This was the best price for all the different brands offered. The display was being restocked when I got mine, the guy told me he had lots of 30 counts that he was about to put out. I've never seen 30 counts before! No clue how much they were but he seemed excited about it. They had a sign that purchases were limited to 2 cartons/person. I'll continue to purchase because I eat a lot of eggs for the protein but it seems that something is amiss here. BTW, prices for a dozen eggs ranged on Saturday from $6.99 to 10.99.
