Went shopping today 1/27...I was shocked 30 eggs were $2 less than 2 weeks ago..we use a lot of eggs..They had a limit 1 30 pk per person...or  2 of the other size cartons.

Yet chickens were 99 cents a lb.

I only buy eggs a couple of times a year. I live very rural and there are alot of people that have chickens that either sell the eggs or give them away. The last time I bought eggs was at Christmas to make cookies and they were 3.25 a dozen. I guess if you have to have them, you pay the price.

I don't expect prices to go down now the bird flu in the USA has been announced.

Costco did not have their usual organic ones, so got the ones they had out fresh yesterday.  18 count, $6.19 FYI.

I was at Kroger on Sat. and they had a sign posted with

a 2 doz.limit. Also, there were no prices posted, all had

been removed! That was really strange, I didn't purchase.

Guess you find out when you get to checkout.

My Trader Joe's had no eggs. Zero to be found.

Went to another store and found a dozen large for $7.69.

Decided I can wait until I see what, if any, a third grocery store has.

My store raises prices every week now. Latest for 12 ct large is $6.49. Still not buying. Oddly, brown eggs there are still $3.59 but they cant be found. I guess you have to find out when they restock and stand by waiting. Why are brown egg chickens better off?

A Dozen Regular large eggs

White shell = $ 2.99,  Brown shell=$ 3.49.

There was a 2 carton limit.

I wonder if people still go by the old jingle

"Brown Eggs are LOCAL Eggs and Local eggs are FRESH!"

Me, I think Refrigerated transport is a wonderful thing.

I got the white shell eggs.
