Does anyone know if the salmon from Egg Harbor is wild caught or farmed? Thanks.

The Faroe Island salmon says:

What's the difference between Faroe Island salmon and the Atlantic salmon?

Faroe Island salmon is a type of Atlantic salmon that is raised in the pristine, cold waters around the Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands are known for their high standards of fish farming, which includes strict regulations on fish welfare, feed quality, and environmental impact.

Hope that helps

That sounds like farm raised to me--however--not in the usual meaning of that word-- farmed--- it is in open water not penned up in some gross pond------ I have this salmon on AD and this is my 2nd year--is delicious and I feel fine about this practice.

I agree @wagirl

It is Not wild caught, meaning no one is fishing on a boat for you.....but they have shown pictures of how the salmon are raised and you are right....open water, but still a different type of farm raised.

The salmon from Egg Harbor as well as all Faroe Island salmon is farmed.

It is supposed to be farmed to a high standard, but there has been problems with bacteria and containments being in the water.  Thousands of pounds of salmon have had to be destroyed in the past, but at least it is tested often.

Wild caught is the best.

Technically farmed but not in the way the US does it. They live in the ocean in some of the cleanest water in the world with currents. Also don't feed them artificial stuff like you would find in US farms.

Could Brittany Rastelli please trim her fingernails when she’s handling food. It makes it look very unappealing for someone to handle food with long fingernails not to mention it’s a harbor of germs.

If you ever read about farmed fish of any kind, you won't ever want to eat it. Luckily we catch our own fish quite often here in Florida, but for Salmon, our Publix stores have it in their greenwise option which is wild caught.
