Boy, you got that right. I live in a suburb of Philadelphia. I have lived here 40+ years. This is the first year, I have heard several different flocks of chickens in the neighborhood. BUT it is also the first year hearing about coyotes around.
Recently foxes have been in the neighborhood and a few years ago a bear. We always had hawks but until this year we have never had coyotes.

I was listening to a report on NPR the other day .... the price of eggs are going UP, regardless of where you buy them.
Get this ........ the other day I saw a dozen organic blue and brown eggs (never heard of them) for $10.99 a dozen!
I took a pic and will try to post it here. I wouldn't believe it, either.
Hope this works ..............

@Tinkrbl44. I bought brown eggs, not organic, at Walmart for $3+ per dozen. I usually buy their cheapest XL eggs. I broke one recently and noted the yoke was like gelatin and the white runny and thin as water. Decided to try another brand.

I buy free range farm eggs from a local farmer for $4 a dozen. They are delicious! I get mine in western NC.

Southern WV; my last eggs were Egglands Best, large, for $2.79 doz at IGA. They were $1 cheaper than the store brand, due to being close to sell by date. Store brand was $3.99.
