I rarely use my Dutch Oven....it's a LeCruset that I got with credit card points.  I simply do not like the shape of it. I prefer an shaped oval pan....a braiser?

I have other enameled cast iron pans that I use all the time. I love starting things on the stove and then slow cooking them in the oven.  To me it's better than the slow cooker as I can tilt or remove the lid to cook juices/gravies down.

I've had that Flame pan with insert for years and have not used it, never  knew it's benefits or how to care (not ruin) it.  Maybe when you've mastered it you can let us know.  I bought it from the Q and remember it was touted as a chicken roaster to use on the grill or in the oven.

I so wish I could buy another Club cast aluminum Dutch oven.  The cast iron Dutch ovens are to heavy for me to use these days.    I now use my Ninja 4 in 1.  It has a cooktop option and the slow cooker option.  Gets the job done for me but might be too small for people with larger families.
