I used the vegetable tray to roast new potatoes along side 2 NY strip steaks last weekend; they turned out great. I also used non-stick foil over that bottom tray, but it is a PITA since the heating element has to be totally removed to get that piece out. Also, cleaning coagulated grease out of that little "drawer" thing is annoying.
We like the grill OK, but food does not compare to charcoal-grilled IMO. I love the smoky flavor of a real fire. That said, the electric grill is nice and works fine, plus it is cute. It looks like a little robot standing on the patio.
