Re: Do you wash eggs before using them? With what?

This is very true. In the 8th grade, for my science project to demonstrate osmosis I created a vacuum in a test tube, sealed it to the small end of an egg, the entire egg with yolk intact passed through the shell into the test tube. This wasn't immediate, I think it took 2-3 days.

I do wash my eggs with water. I don't know if I have always done this as I can't remember thinking about this subject. I am surprised that I am in the minority and I can assure you I am not a cleanliness fanatic. Go figure.

I've never washed eggs and never will. What I DO wash however, is my hands, after I crack them open to use and have disposed of the shells.

LOL! Was curious what your settings would be for soft-boiled or hard-boiled? {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Hey, people cook fish in tinfoil in their dishwasher...stranger things have happened.
