Do you own a food processor?

If so, do you find that you use it often?  I've been wanting to get one and was hoping I could find a used one somewhere, but no luck with that.   I do bake often and also have recipes where it calls for one.

I just don't want to end up with another large appliance that sits in my drawer most of the time!

Re: Do you own a food processor?

I own one that I purchased at a Kitchen store in our local mall.  That store has now closed and maybe the whole company is out of business now too.

Anyway, it was a refurbished KitchenAid.  I don't think it is full size but maybe just one size down.  I only use mine 3 or 4 times a year and sometimes, only once or twice.  However, for those times I do use it, I'm sure glad I have it.

I don't use mine as often as I could. Mine is very big and it takes my husband to help.

For small jobs , I have a small  Cuisinart chopper .

Yes, a Cuisinart.  Another one who doesn't use it often.  But it's the only appliance that really chops and blends proficiently.

I have one that I grind fresh kale with... that is all I use it for. I eat kale fresh everyday and grind in up for the week to add to salads, soups, everything including for my dogs and my birds.

I have a Ninja Pulse.  Use it often for so many things.

It is small so I can leave it out.  From chopping to ice cream!  Does so many functions!

It is a machine that may not be used daily but is hard to replace when you need it.

I have had several and would buy another Cuisinart if mine quit.  If you aren't doing really big tough jobs likedough and such, get a smaller but full sized one.  If you can keep it on the counter weight is not a problem.  Otherwise, check the weight and don't go for very very heavy.

I've had my Ninja Master Prep since it first came out years ago. Best thing ever. So easy to find replacement parts. I use it at least three to four times a week.

I have a 14 cup-food processor and can't imagine having one with a smaller capacity. It came with a smaller processing bowl in addition to the regular bowl. I use it three or four times a year, but when I need it… I need it and can't imagine not having one.

Re: Do you own a food processor?

I have one and I use it often.  I make a lot of pestos, hummus dips, tapenades, etc.  I also prefer making bread dough in the food processor as opposed to the KA mixer.

Mine is a Cuisinart; it's my second one.  Everyone says it's the best but I have never been thrilled with the bowl locking mechanism.  Is there a machine as good as a Cuisinart that I should look into?
