I have been using a pie crust zipper bag for many years for easy rolling and easy transfer to the pie plate. My old bag is some kind of pliable plastic. Just before Thanksgiving I bought a silicon zipper bag.

Mrs. Anderson’s Baking Anderson’s Easy No-Mess Pie Crust Maker Bag, 14-Inches, Clear

It seemed like a no-brainer. HOWEVER, as I roll my crust in between these two silicone sheets, the crust seems to become very wet. It becomes much more sticky.  I have added flour and reduced water, but to no avail. What is going on? Anyone have this problem? (PS: I use Crisco, and always have.)

Re: Do You Use a Pie Crust Bag?

@PA Mom-mom you might try putting your dough between a couple sheets of parchment paper.  You can use your bag as a template, if you want to cut the paper into circles that will fit inside the bag.

@PA Mom-mom

I have the exact Mrs. Anderson's you pictured, but it is plastic NOT silicone.  According to Amz, the silicone one is quite expensive.

My crust recipe is half butter, half crisco.   I haven't had that problem.

I think @JeanLouiseFinch  had an Excellent idea!

I have precut parchment rounds I use for my cheesecakes.

@RespectLife  Yes, my 16 inch round was $22.00. But I thought it would last longer and have an easier release. I have been using the plastic one for many years. It's worn out. I'm going to try @JeanLouiseFinch  suggestion.

I gave up making homemade pie crust years ago. Now, I buy the Pillsbury premade.

Re: Do You Use a Pie Crust Bag?

I make a lot of pie.  I always roll the dough between two pieces of waxed paper.  I have never used a bag.

Maybe you can place a bunch of flour on the bottom and top of the pie crust ball before you put it in the bag.

I don't like silicon for baking. Perhaps you should try wax paper or buy a new bag with no silicon.

I've never seen these bags!

I make pie occassionally, and can never roll it into a perfect circle!
