Declutterring unnecessary kitchen gadgets, etc., I'm tempted to get rid of my collection of cookbooks, but for some reason I am reluctant to do so. Don't know why since I never look at them. Have you kept yours?

@Biftu If you don't use them and don't want them, by all means get rid of them!
I have a large collection and use them all the time, but we both cook a lot and like to try new things. If we didn't I'd get rid of them for sure! No need not to! ![]()

@Biftu Yes, I have kept mine although I don't have a huge collection. Those I have are mostly very sentimental to me because I watched my mother cook from them when i was little.

Don't have a large collection of cookbooks anymore, just a few choice ones with recipes I make from time to time with wonderful memories. It's nice to have the internet to look for new interesting recipes as I like variety.
My late husband collected the Southern Living cookbooks and that was an enormous collection to keep on hand. Beautiful cookbooks, but overwhelming for me.

@cheriere I too have a few sentimental cookbooks given to me by friends and my mother when I got my first apartment. Those few I will keep.

@Biftu Funny you should ask! When we downsized I had a bookcase of cookbooks I had collected over the years. I went through them before moving and donated many........well just the other day I went through them again and decided if I hadn't used them in the past 5 years we have been in our townhouse they were being donated too. Off they went, another dozen of them! I only kept my very favorites and I'm down to around 10 now which is still most likely more than I need, but I do use them.

I do have my mom's cookbooks and the ones I collected but I rarely use them. I have a couple on my kitchen, the others in a box in a closet. Time has changed so much about the way we now live. When I need a recipe for something, I Google it. I get a bunch of recipes for what I need. I can print them or store them in a folder on my laptop or my phone. I can forward the recipe to my daughter's or a friend.

Yes. My most loved one I received from my sister as a Wedding present 60 years ago. "Betty Crocker New Picture COOK BOOK." It automatically opens to Peanut Butter Cookie recipe. I wonder why?

Sounds like me! I gave several of mine away, that I never look at, and I've regretted it ever since! 😞
