Instant Pot pressure cooker on Americas test Kitchen

I watched this show yesterday and they devoted the show to this brands 8qt pressure cooker. The 8qt one got the best rated of all the other brands. The price was $129 I think.  Then they cooked a whole chicken in it . They also went thru kind of primer about how to use it too. I had the 6 qt and now have the 3 qt as well as the  6 qt airfryer. I love the brand and will be buying a 6 or 8 qt pressure cooker when I have the room to store it. They actually called it a multi cooker.

I saw that episode too. I have a Ninja 5 in 1 Foodi. I like it because it opens from the top and all the parts are metal, not plastic.

Re: Instant Pot pressure cooker on Americas test Kitchen

I record this program but haven't watched this episode yet.

I own both a 3 qt and 6 qt Instant Pots and also own more than 100 pressure cooking cookbooks. I love looking through them and choosing recipes to try. I've also given the 6 qt size as a gift to several people.

I use the 6 qt more frequently. I purchased both so I could, for example, make a pot roast in the 6 qt. and potatoes for mashed potatoes in the 3 quart. I absolutely LOVE the Instant Pot. It has truly changed the way I cook. Wlhenever I want to cook something, especially something new, I look online to see if there is a pressure cooker version of it. Frequently there is and more often than not there are several pressure cooking recipes. I check out the various recipes and choose the one that is most appealing to me. There are several folks on the Internet that have very good pressure cooking websites. Check the websites for Barbara Schieving and Jeffrey Eisner. There are other pressure cooking websites but I think these two are some of the best.

If you're thinking of getting an Instant Pot, do so. You won't regret it. Of course you'll choose the size that you think is best for your family but I'll tell you that the vast number of pressure cooking recipes online and it books are for the 6 quart size.

The 6 qt IP Duo is currently $84 on Amazon and the IP Pro$ 120.

I realize I am in the minority but my instant pot purchase was the worst kitchen purchase I ever made. The food was disastrous.

@Razzy 7  check out Amy + Jacky"s intant pot website.  An excellent one as well.  They test different timing and settings for food to get the best results and they have excellent recipes.

I have a 3 qt and 6 qt instant pot and use the 3 qt one the most, since I live alone.  I use it often,  One of my favorites was a New York cheesecake in the 6 qt pot.  It was very creamy and delicious and the top did not sink or crack like they can when baked in a regular oven.  Of course I had company over for this- didn't eat the whole thing by myself!!!
