Re: Do You Cook In An Apron?

Yes, but I'd like to find something to protect my arms & sleeves when flipping food. I have a splatter guard i try to use as a shield, but would like an arm apron. Any recommendations?

Nope but both of my grandmothers seemed to live in their little flowered ones!

Always, I should look up the poem about "my mother's apron" I do not remember who wrote it.

Nope, but I should LOL.

#1 reason:  bad habit of wiping my hands on my pants.

I'd probably wear a half apron, though, like my mom did.

She had great sewing skills, and created them from printed towels.

I never wore an apron when I cooked, but should have worn one.  My DIL always wears an apron, so for about 5 years now I have given her a new apron as one of her Christmas gifts.

I don't wear one, but my mom did, mostly the half aprons.  I never got into the habit of wearing one and got the dreaded grease splatter on many tops.  Thanks goodness for Shout It Out!

I only wear one while frying and that is rare.  It is a cool muslin off white one with a huge KC Chiefs trademark picture on the front.

Yupp. Got tired of getting grease splatters on my shirts - especially polyester sports shirts that just hang on to those spots.

I made 3 of them for use at home by me and hubby. I make some each year for a charity auction and they always get decent bids. Sometimes I buy apron panel prints at Beverly's.. They are easy to sew and come out really nice.

Yes! For as long as I can remember, foods have been leaping onto the front of whatever I'm wearing, and donning an apron before I start to prep ingredients is 2nd nature to me.
