I learned most of my cooking techniques  from my MIL.She was a good cook and taught me her tricks of the trade but I never got to be as good at it as her.She had everything in her head so there was no recipe...just how it looked or felt.I am glad that I learned as much as I did because her own daughter and granddaughters weren't interested so I am the only one that can attempt to recreate her special recipes.I have taught my son what I know and he seems to be better at it than me so her specialties will not be lost.
