I bought the green boxes (in purple) from HSN a while back.  I love them and cannot believe how long food (vegetables, fruit, parsley, etc.) keep in them.  I just thought it was a sales pitch, but they really work well.  I was looking at them on another site and reviews said they only last for a certain amount of time and then they no longer keep food fresh.  Anyone have experience with these and can comment to that review?

Re: Debbie Meyer Green Boxes

I've bought several of them over the years.  I used to keep buying them (different sizes) and they never worked for me.

It would be frustrating because I'd have to make room in my refrigerator for these 'boxes' and then it didn't make any difference in the food.

It would go bad at about the same amount of time.

Have used the green bags for decades but never the boxes - wasn't even aware of them until I ordered more bags.  They especially keep the veggies moist - but - not wet and......so produce doesn't de-hydrate either.  Lettuce seems to last the longest.

Self-defrosting refrigs can suck the moisture out faster.

I am very pleased with the boxes and they do keep zucchini, carrots, celery, parsley, etc. fresh much longer.  Storage is an issue though when they are not in use.  Just wondering if washing them over and over  takes away their ability to work.  Someone had posted this is the case.  (posted on a review at Amazon where they are also sold)

I just have the green bags and love them. Every so many days I check on lettuce & veggies to make sure no moisture I do wrap my lettuce up in a papertowel before puting it into the green bags. I haven't tried the boxes.

I love her green bags! But I don’t use the boxes. They totally do save the produce longer and save $$$ !

I bought a new set that has the perfect number of boxes in the perfect sizes and use them constantly---they work great for me. I use the green bags too . I stick a paper towels in them to absorb the moisture. Love the divided plate ones-----take those to work all the time. I have the thick boxes; the thin ones are garbage.

I tried the green bags and they didn’t work for me. I wonder why Deb’s products work for some us but not for others.

I use the Debbie Meyer green bags and love them. They, too, only last a certain amount of time. I certainly feel that I get my $$ and use from these bags. They really do work and the money saved in keeping fruit/produce fresh is more than the cost of the bags.

I always repurpose those types of containers for other things once they are not food safe. I use my old L&L from the garage to the craft room to the laundry and storage rooms.
