I agree with you 100% David isn't enjoying himself anymore, he seems very distracted on the air, perhaps he is bored presenting the same products over and over again and maybe he is tired of hosting in the kitchen which I don't think is his forte, he's not a chef and I don't think cooking is his life's work. I think he is a great salesmen and does well presenting other items on the Q.

I agree. He had no past food interest and apparently no other interest in it as an activity before this show. Now he is roped into that role, makes a ton of money and has no way to get out of it. Maybe he is just sick of it. He surely must be sick of the silly happy dance and such.

I agree with both of you. I am not watching regularly, but David DOES seem to be slightly off his "norm". I like David alot, so definately bashing here. It actually seems that ALL the hosts are "burnt out". Qvc just isn't what it used to be. i can barely stand to watch an entire hr. anymore (& usually don't).

Mary Beth, Jane Treacy, and a few others do a fine job of hosting a different style cooking show. If some of them hosted more often, and IF they had a new product how and then, I might actually watch a few minutes. I can't "stomach" what is offered now.

I really don't see how any host can do the marathon shows. Seriously, 2 hours is a lot, but 3 and 4 hours is just too much at once for one person selling the same items.

It IS a lot- I think that since he has such a huge fan-base, the Q is afraid to siphon any of his time off, though-

since I only watch on sunday mornings, can you tell me, does he do other shows than cooking? I know he does Wed evening too, but that is over before I ge thome so I don't see it- Is he as popular with other products?

I am a longtime fan of David (other than his juvenile happy dance/happy face antics) and have noticed the distraction and "off" demeanor lately.

Hate to say it but it reminds me of how Bob Bowersox got throughout his last couple of years -- the vagueness, not listening to hosts, seeming to be on autopilot, etc. Very smiliar.

If David is burning out -- and who could blame him with the dismal, repetitive product mix -- I hope he is given a new assignment, or a leave of absence, or something that would help him recharge. He is one of QVC's best assets and it would be a shame if they just ran him into the ground.

Then again he must be at least 50, right? If he's socking away a decent percentage of his salary perhaps getting off the merry-go-round and leading a more healthy lifestyle would be best for him. Retire early down south, do the occasional infomercial or consulting gig, maybe work with the Food Network or some other venue. Who could blame him given what QVC has become the last couple of years.

I have said countless times, on these BB's, that Hosts need to be moved around instead of doing the same jobs....ITKWD....Morning Show with Pat and Dan...Early Morning with Pat and Jayne....PMS with LR.....etc etc etc.....

They all have become bored....and boring...the same products over and over and over...must be tiresome for them....sure is tiresome to me...and many of you....

I noticed Davids disinterest...on edge....unpleasant...loud...fast talking...and way too much H.D...I don't know how old he is...but if he is feeling over stressed...he needs to take a leave...or change jobs....before he has a stroke or heart attack....

I honestly hardly ever turn QVC on any more....I will glance at Items Recently On Air....I just can't take the hyper hosts...and the same items on a daily basis...

I saw Eric Theis (sp) selling a cooker in an infomercial this weekend. He was a natural! Perhaps the rat race of selling more, selling faster, selling better, is affecting him. He does get time off often - does he still have the Florida house - maybe he should take a break one week a month and just stay home.

I like David, and have enjoyed watching his shows.

I'm hoping he's ok. From what some of you describe, it reminds me of how I was feeling not long before I had a stroke. Just "off". At the time, it snuck up on me, so I didn't really notice much, just that I didn't feel so good. Maybe it's time for David to get a good physical exam if he hasn't had one recently.

Another thought is, I have read some pretty cruel comments about him on these boards the past few months. I wish people would think before they type such things, how they would feel if they were "critiqued" that way. Constant badgering doesn't make anybody enjoy their job. It's bound to affect them.

He strikes me as being a very nice person, and I hope to be watching him on QVC for a long time to come.

My expectations are that David will eventually be lured away from QVC. I think he has long proved he has the talent and ability to do other things, and think he will be presented with other opportunities in the future.

These hosts, especially the more senior ones, do get a fair amount of vacation time. I'm not positive, but I think they get around 5 weeks off a year. That's a lot more than most people get and many of us can't even afford a real vacation. David was just in the tropics not too long ago he was posting photos sitting poolside. I'm sure they get burnout but so do most employees who have been at a job 10 plus years.
