Hello, I am reposting this here hoping more people will see it. I work for a school and one of the lunch aides will be leaving in June. It was not her choice, but the principal decided not to renew her contract. I have known her for 7 years and would like to get her something upon her leaving. Any suggestions. I was thinking a Dunkin Donuts gift card or lottery tickets. What do you think?

That's very thoughtful & considerate of you! Without knowing the person, it's hard to make suggestions but a gift card sounds good.

IMHO: Not a great gift. I don't know this person so I can't make a recommendation. Personally I don't eat this type of food and can't even remember eating a Dunken Donut. Just me. Don't go getting all upset. U asked. Good luck![]()

If she's going to be unemployed, take up a collection and get her a Visa gift card.

Pinterest has a LOT of ideas. Here are just a few that I thought were cute:
A pretty flowering plant with a tag that reads: ""Thank you for helping the children BLOOM!""
A Starbucks gift card with a tag wrapped around a small bottle of Frappuccino that reads: ""Thanks a LATTE for all you've done!""
A Bath & Body Works gift card with a cute bottle of hand soap with a tag that reads: ""It takes many HANDS to raise a child!""
Hope these help!

hmmmm........I think something nicer than a Dunkin Donuts gift card or lottery tickets would be in order. Unless you know she loves Dunkin Donuts or that is the only coffee shop in the city, I'd forget that one. I think Starbucks is a much nicer idea. But that's just me I am a huge Starbucks fan. I think the only people that go to Dunkin Donuts around here are truckers since the only one I can think of is near the interstate!
How well do you know her? I think that really is the determination on what kind of gift you give her.
If you really want to give her a gift card, I'd opt for a preloaded Visa or AmEx card or something similar. That way she can use it wherever she wants to.
If she is a really good friend to you and you know a lot about her, give her a nicer gift and something you know she likes and uses, or a gift card to her favorite restaurant.

That would probably be what I would do.
If she's not leaving by choice, it may be that she may soon be in a financial bind.
A Visa, MasterCard or AmExpress gift card would be great gift, she could use it at the grocery, a restaurant or wherever she chose.
