I’m so happy I broke down a while ago & bought my counter top ice maker.

I have used it so much this week in this heat & humidity.

we have one that makes "crunchy ice" and we love it.

it was a splurge "family gift" last christmas from us to us. lol

it was pricey, but it works so well, is easy to use, and makes ice very quickly......and it should at that price. we dont use it all the time, but we bring it out for family get togethers and company. love it especially for making cocktails.

it is the ge profile opal 2.0 and we got it at best buy. make sure it has a side tank. that makes a big difference into how often you have to refill.

@sunshine45  We've wanted one of those for awhile. It's the sonic ice everyone loves. Besides the price, we read that it doesn't last so we never took the plunge. How long have you had yours?

YES....it is the "sonic ice!"

ours is going on a year old.

we do not use it every day though, just a FYI.

so far, no issues at all.

we got ours at best buy and we  have their totaltech support that generally gives you up to 24 months of warranty on items purchased there.

@sunshine45 Thanks for the info! You make it sound very tempting. Almost bought one so many times but always backed out. We might just try when our current one goes out. Maybe they'll even go down.
