@kjayr   Just FYI:  I just noticed under the Customer Care Forum Re:  Curtis Stone sets that there is a string of 13 entries on that post that reference a customer receiving a set from a bad batch that damaged her glass top stove (rings embedded in it apparently) so you might want to steer clear of that brand for a while.

Hope this helps.

For what it is worth I stick with mostly stainless steel pans (some are All Clad) and some LeCreuset enameled cast iron.

I've had Wolfang Pug Stainless Steel for years and haven't had to replace those. I also have All Clad and that works well.

For  probably the last 20 years or more, I've accumulated a few Tramontina skillets.   I also use cast iron.

I need to replace my smaller sauce pans, they get the most use in my kitchen

I was given a Gothic Steel skillet, it's awesome.   It's large, I'd like to purchases a smaller one.

I usually buy at Sam's Club or TJ Maxx

Another vote for Curtis Stone--I got one of his sets from HSN a year ago--was a 15 piece set that all stacked together --it has 2 handles on each pan, not the stick handle and each pot/skillet has its own lid. Was around $180 on the HSN value of the day--it is light weight and are the Dura pans. Had a hodge podge of cookwear, mostly that terrible black non stick. this is ceramic coated and has just the right sizes of things I needed. And it saves alot of space storing it. Still looks brand new too.

I want to say Farberware but I have nothing to compare it to. I've used the same set for 40 plus years. Still going strong. Not sure how well made they are now since they moved manufacturing to China. Mine are labled Bronx N.Y.

I saw a set similar to the one you mentioned in the "recently reduced" option yesterday. It was a large set. Hope this is it.

I have switched to Curtis Stone about 3 years ago and it is all I will buy (or buy for a gift) now.  Clean-up is great and nothing sticks to the pans.

@kjayr,  I don't have a recommendation for a brand, I am very happy with my Curtis Stone, Ming Tsai (especially his new Blue Diamond line) and Wolfgang Puck cookware.

What I can very strongly recommend is that unless you have a compelling need for a "set" that you purchase individual pieces that you will use on a regular basis.  Too often sets include items you will never or rarely use then have to store and will be missing pieces you really need.

I prefer pieces over sets.  As someone else mentioned, sets include pieces I don't really need or want and don't include others I do want.

I have a couple of different brands hanging on my pot rack.  I like my brushed stainless calphalon even though I believe AllClad makes a better product.  However, I prefer tempered glass lids and I will not pay extra for them if I buy AllClad.  I also have a couple of Langostina and Henckles pieces.  The Henckles are stone/ceramic non-stick skillets that are free of all that chemical composition that makes pans non-stick.

I am still using my SS copper bottom Revereware.  I've never had to repurchase since we got married.  I do buy the occasional no stick frying pan for eggs.
