Has anyone tried the Clever Cutter?  What do you think of it?

The commercial shows someone cutting through ears of corn with it.

I have never seen this, but from the picture I don't see how you could cut an onion without sawing back and forth. I am one of those sceptical people. I don't believe everything I see on tv.

I think I saw that at BBB.  I don't think I would use it on large or dense items but lettuce and celery might work.  I would be nervous about onions, etc.

So, you can't cut ears of corn with it then?  LoL

I wasn't actually going to cut ears of corn with it, but I was wondering if it was anything like the commercial showed.

Is it not as easy to use as shown, or is it that it doesn't cut well?

I was interested in it, because it seems like it would be easier and faster to cut carrots, cucumbers, celery, etc. with for a salad than having to use a cutting board and knife.

I've watched videos of this, but figured I'd cut my fingers off with it.  :-)

I received one as a gift many years ago, but threw it out.  I didn't have the hand strength needed to cut much with it.  Case in point, look at the uneven slices in the photo.  That's from trying to hold the onion with one hand while squeeeezing with the other.  Anyone who can cut an ear of corn with it could also probably tear a phone book in half.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

I imagined the same thing happening, but reasoned that if I was just really careful...

@IamMrsG

Ahh.  Well that makes sense.

Then again, I could use better hand strength.  Smiley Very Happy

Just kidding.  I think I'll probably skip the "Clever" Cutter

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!!
