Bought the giant bag of bay leaves from Penzey's..Opened today and used a couple..My question is: What is the best way to store them? they are in a zip lock bag- should I keep them in the cupboard? refrigerator? freezer? lock n lock?

I'd keep them in their zip lock bag in the cupboard. Don't forget to put one in your flour. It'll keep weevils away.

no fridge will introduce moisture
keep them in a ziplock if they didn't come in a jar, they last forever.
I think a LnL would be a good choice too or Sistema or similar.
I keep mine with my spices

There a few things that I don't use a lot of or often, Saffron and Bells Seasoning, I keep in the freezer. I have a friend that keeps yeast in the freezer and you would think it may kill it but they have never had a problem using it.

King Arthut Flour recommends keeping bulk yeast in the freezer. I buy iy in one ound packages, amd it stays good in the freezer in an airtight container for at least a year after opening.

I use my foodsaver with jars and store them down in my cold room. Small jars upstairs in my cupboard.

I keep bay leaves in the freezer. I don't bother to thaw them when needed - I just toss one in the dish I'm cooking.
I don't remember where I read about freezing bay leaves, but it works very well.

Thanks for posting this question, MT. I bought a jar of bay leaves from BJ's, and forgot to look up or ask how to best store it.
